The Trench Leaching System
In 2004 DeVere was the recipient of a $48,000 Federal Government COMET grant to develop this system - characterised by its relative simplicity and portability compared to more complex, less cost efficient methods. The Trench Leaching System is a hybrid of existing heap leaching and tank leaching systems. It provides yields comparable with those gained from expensive tank leaching, yet costs little more than inexpensive, low-yield heap leaching, while reducing environmental risks. The System is aimed at small to medium mining projects deemed unviable due to the prohibitive costs of tank leaching. Its purpose is to provide unparalleled financial returns together with maximum environmental safety – especially in low yield ores and failed heap leaches. It has the potential to make many currently unviable mineral leases profitable, and could increase profits on marginal mining leases by more than 100%. It has a ready-made market in the processing of low yield ores, the resurrection of failed heap leaches and the remediation of tailings (especially in China). In an independent laboratory test conducted in December 2005, a gold leaching yield was achieved of between 91% and 93% for the gold ore sample tested. Factoring in ore sample variations, this is comparable with yields achieved by the more expensive process of tank leaching. These results were achieved at a very low energy input and using between ¼ and ½ the quantity of cyanide used in conventional tank leaching – further validating the economic and environmental viability of the Trench Leaching System. StatusWith our laboratory prototype and testing completed, DeVere Mining is about to commence leaching trials on three gold ore deposits, with a view to developing a full scale pilot plant. We have entered into a verbal agreement with an ASC listed junior gold explorer for this exercise, and are in negotiation for the development of two small scale portable plants, which will serve to prove up the technology for the full scale pilot plant. Free Testing - Contact UsDeVere is currently seeking new clients with difficult leaching scenarios, failed heap leaches or old tailings for reprocessing. Clients are invited to contact DeVere Mining to arrange for a free leaching test of difficult or low-grade ore samples. Once the ore sample has been proved suitable for Trench leaching, DeVere will at no obligation submit a detailed proposal for a full laboratory testing program to identify likely mineral yields, cost projections and profit margins that can be obtained by using the Trench Leaching Technology. Laboratory testing is conducted independently, at commercial rates. We urge all mining companies with difficult or financially challenging leaching issues to consider this option - initially at our expense - with the potential for significant increases in profit.
